About
Hi! I’m Beth, wife to Mr. Z and proud mother of four mini Z’s. I have a deep love for Jesus, rainy days, a touch of coffee with my creamer, and the delightful aroma that fills the kitchen when something is baking. My husband might say my baking skills took some time to develop—he’s endured more than a few less-than-perfect meals that ultimately found their way to the trash! But through plenty of trial and error, I’ve embraced the journey and now relish creating the perfect baked treats.
Have you ever experienced a scent that instantly transports you back to a specific moment in your life? For me, that scent is the warm aroma of poppyseed bread baking in the oven. It takes me straight to the cozy dining room of my childhood home, where I would watch my mom, Janet Beth, create magic in the kitchen.
Growing up, there was always a delicious meal (or delicious dessert) waiting for us at the dinner table, a reflection of my mom’s nurturing spirit. She was one of the most remarkable people I have ever known, teaching me the importance of loving fiercely, persevering through challenges, and embracing every moment.
On the difficult days of life, I turn to baking—it’s my way of feeling close to her. I wanted to find a way to keep my mom’s memory alive, not just in my heart but also for my children; helping them learn about her and the incredible person she was. That’s how Janet Beth Bakehouse & Coffee came to be. Every cookie, muffin and baked good is a tribute to the woman she was and all she instilled in me. As far as coffee goes, you can't have a freshly baked muffin without an amazing cup of coffee, that's just silly.
My logo features her actual signature as well as reflecting her love for Holstein cows.
I'm not sure how things work in Heaven, but I can only hope one day we can share a cup of coffee and a warm cookie.
